Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe was passed on to me by my good friend Danielle M. I probably make these at least twice a month. THEY ARE DEVINE. Whenever I take them to a party, or dinner- I always get the response of, “these are the best cookies I have ever had”. Once you try this recipe, it will instantly become a favorite. I bet you can’t eat just one…

Here’s how I made them:

First of all, I want to share one of my favorite baking tips. I really believe sifting your flour makes a difference, but it can also be a big pain. My favorite little trick is to fluff up my flour in a bowl using a fork- works just as well and takes seconds.

1 cup butter or margarine (or ½ cup butter, ½ cup margarine)

1 cup white sugar

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups peanut butter

2 1/4 cups sifted flour

2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or 1 cup semisweet, 1 cup milk chocolate)

1// Cream together butter, granulated and brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

2// Stir in peanut butter.

3// In separate bowl, sift flour baking soda and salt together.

4// Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture.

5// Add chocolate chips.

6// Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet. {Softly flatten cookies with  flat surface, sprinkle sugar on top}.  Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes.  Let stand on sheets to cool before removing.  Makes 7-8 dozen cookies.
