Happy National Sewing Month everyone! I’m excited to share one of my recent makes, using McCall’s Pattern Vogue V9201 and Cotton + Steel’s Rifle Paper Co. Les Fleurs Rayon fabric.
This pattern is so perfect for Fall with it’s beautiful collar (2 options in one dress, the navy collar pictured is a detachable collar) longs sleeves, and cuffs. I’m obsessed with the hidden button placket, I’m seeing it everywhere for Fall 2016. This pattern is fun in that it has so many features to sew: collar, cuffs, plackets, fly placket, side invisible sipper, darts, pleats, gathers, back yoke, buttons and buttons holes. It’s not challenging, just a lot of steps. I had a a great time putting it all together!
Now let’s talk about this fabric. It is simply stunning! The drape is amazing, the touch is so soft, and it sews up beautifully. The color is so vibrant, and I love the large floral print, (another style I’m seeing everywhere for fall). This fabric also comes in light blue, and navy in rayon. Personally, I just love this print in red!
Head over to BERNINA’s blog We All Sew for a little tutorial I posted all about sewing collars and cuffs.
I love the front pleat details pictured above, and look at that drape! I couldn’t be happier with how this dress turned out. I can’t wait to pair it with tights in the winter. Head over to Cotton and Steel to see the whole Les Fleurs collection! Happy Sewing!
Vey pretty! Nice work too. It will be lovely in the colder weather with some tights!
