Women’s Waterfall Raglan Top

fullsizerender-64

The Womens Waterfall Raglan is finally here!! This pattern is a relaxed knit top or dress with a bottom ruffle hem and three sleeve options: short, 3/4 or long sleeved. This is my second top I’ve made using pattern, and I love it. In fact, I’m wearing it right now (and I wore it yesterday too.. shhh).

I was lucky enough to be a tester for this pattern. (Thanks Gabriela!). This is a project you could put together in one sitting. I sewed this top up in one night. The instructions are excellent, and the fit is spot on. I can’t wait to make a short sleeve version for summer.

I really love the side details and how the ruffle runs up a little at the side seams.

I sewed mine up in a size 2 using this gorgeous blush thermal knit from Stylish Fabric. The fabric is so soft, and has a looser relaxed drape. I really like the color too. I’m already thinking spring and I know this will be a great versatile piece in my wardrobe as the weather slowwwly gets warmer. I did remove about an inch from neckband to make this fabric work with the pattern, just make sure to baste in your neckband first, you’ll save yourself a lot of trouble if it’s not quite right.

I also LOVE this pattern because there’s a girls version too. So, for my first version I made one for myself and a matching one for my daughter. I used a magenta knit I had in my fabric stash purchased a while back. Every time she sees me wearing mine she runs to her room and pull hers out too.

You can also see the difference in the fit between the two fabrics I used with the same size pattern pieces for both tops.

It looks great! I love the raglan sleeves and the ruffle really lifts it from being a regular tee. I remember seeing your matching versions and loved them but promptly forgot where I’d seen them. Thanks for the reminder. Great work, as always!
