I have a very exciting announcement to make! I am officially a Baby Lock Ambassador! Woo hoo! Now, I’ve had a couple of followers ask me, “why Baby Lock?”. Well, let me tell you! My first ever sewing machine was a Baby Lock A-Line series, and I lovvve her. She got me through my first few years of clothing construction courses, as well as the beginnings of this blog! I was recently scouting around for a new serger, and I’ve always heard great things about Baby Lock! I mean, jet-air threading sergers… need I say more? So I reached out to them, and here we are now!
As part of my Ambassadorship, I was gifted two machines from Baby Lock: Brilliant and Celebrate. Today I want to tell you about some of my favorite features of the Baby Lock Brilliant sewing machine, and why I picked this particular machine!
I picked the Brilliant first and foremost because it is a great all around machine for any project: apparel, home decor, quilting, etc! Now, let’s talk features! This machine offers SO many great features and I want to tell you about some of my favorites:
-Advanced Needle Threader! Makes threading your needle soooo fast and easy! Works every time! If you head to my Instagram account @thesaraproject_ you can watch a reel I created showing just how easy it is to thread your Brilliant Baby Lock sewing machine using the advanced needle threader!
-Hands free knee lift to raises your presser foot hand free.
-Quick set drop-in bobbin. It so fast and easy!
-Push button feature: cut thread and get a perfect hands free backstitch all with the press of a button. LOVE this!
-10 one step button holes! I love how easy buttonholes are to sew with Baby Lock sewing machines. I especially love how you can place your button in the buttonhole foot and it will sew the perfect size buttonhole for you!
-Lettering stitches! 3 different fonts! (I had some fun playing around with this feature!).
-There are so many decorative stitch options, and a conveniently labeled key can be found right on the lid of the machine! You can also program and personalize decorative stitches to create your own unique pattern by combining different stitches into one.
I also love that I can open and close the top lid of the machine- it helps keep tiny, curious fingers from touching my thread, and it also looks really neat stored on my desk when I’m not sewing.
– You can completely remove the flat bed attachment for those more intricate sewing projects, or when sewing in the round, for example. I love this feature!
-There is also LOTS of storage in the flat bed attachment for sewing feet and sewing tools for easy access!
I still have so much to learn about this awesome machine, but so far it has been a dream! Super smooth sewing and beautiful stitches!
